The Man Who Cleans Up Makeup is an awesome manga. I was pretty excited when I saw it. It’s written by a famous mangaka and is full of great little moments. If you like to read pure love comedy, come check out any time you like.
“The Man Who Wears Up Makeup” is about a college student who is so incredibly gifted that he becomes the idol of a renowned artist. He is the perfect man who perfectly exemplifies what it means to be a genius and what makes everything so much more fun. He also has very average appearance, and nobody really knows what he does with his face. However, nobody really notices since he goes through a massive change in appearance. He becomes the best-looking and studious and becomes the muse of a young genius makeup artist.
This is actually the second part of a series called the Man Who Wears Up Makeup where the first one was released as Webtoons. In this series, the young man who is the star of the story is completely changed. He transforms from a smart and studious and very plain guy into someone who is extremely talented, knows what he wants, and gets things done no matter what. The Webtoons series continues in the next volume, where the second character, the makeup artist who becomes the focus, becomes the most popular guy around.
“The Man Who Cleans Up makeup” follows the life of Yuseong after he accidentally bumps his head on a puddle of mud while playing outside. Doctors say he will never be the same again due to the severe injuries that caused by the accident. Years later, a young woman named Shimma comes to town to help Yuseong become healthy once more. She becomes determined to learn everything she can about his accident and to become a great medical professional. Two years later, when the third volume is released, Shimma becomes the focus of the story.
The makeup artist of the story, named Sehun, struggles with his identity. He feels that he is not good enough for any woman because he has this green goatee-shaped head. He even tries to give up his job at the salon, but then he encounters another young lady named Nisim, who also wants to know more about the Man Who Cures Up Makeup and the ways to perfect his makeup skills. Eventually, they realize that they have to team up in order to keep their own pageants and their own futures alive.
Overall, this webtoon is entertaining and informative at the same time. It has some excellent illustrations that could easily grab the attention of young readers. The story is well told and the characters are very realistically depicted. If you are a fan of the Japanese webtoons or of Japanese animation, you will surely love this one.
