Fashion is a mode of self-expression and autonomy in a certain situation and at a certain time and in a certain context, of attire, footwear, clothing, make-up, hairstyling, and even body posture and postures. In its broader usage, the word simply denotes a fashionable look generally defined by the fashion industry. It is not a term used to identify an individual dressing style.
When we refer to fashion styles, it means individual dressing styles that lend themselves to a given fashion trend. This also means that individual dressing styles, regardless of the trends, can be considered fashionable. But, in order for a particular clothing style to fit into a given trend, certain rules must be followed.
For instance, in the present, street fashion is generally characterized by skinny jeans with baggy, box-style shirts with large pockets and ties. The most noticeable aspect of this style is the oversized pockets on the back of the shirt. It is popular among the hip-hop community as well as other urban youth. Alternative styles such as preppy and Gothic clothing are characterized by oversized shirts with low-rise jeans. To illustrate, the oversized shirts worn by hip-hop artists do not conform to the rules of traditional street and urban clothing styles, but they clearly display the characteristics of a fashion style, nevertheless.
